Acts 3:13
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.
This is during Peter’s preaching at the Temple Mount. Peter spoke to the multitudes about the God of Israel and His wonderful Messiah: Jesus. Jesus is the sole focus of Peter’s sermon. It wasn’t about Peter or any miracle, only Jesus.
Notice that Servant is capitalized. Servant is usually a regular title, but this capitalized version portrays it as a glorious title. GOD’s Servant, Jesus, is perfect. Jesus is God and man in infinite glory.
Pilate, the Roman governor, was determined to let Jesus go, but the Jewish mob didn’t want to. The Jews took part in Jesus’ crucifixion, but they couldn’t have succeeded without the Romans. Although it’s easy to blame the Jews and the Romans for the torture and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, we are to take responsibility every time we sin in our walk with Christ. Respectfully, every time we even remember our sins, we can hold ourselves responsible for Jesus’ death on the cross.
Jesus is the exalted Servant to GOD. How do we see Him?
See Him as GOD’s glorious servant. The one who serves humanity by laying down His life.
Glory be to GOD!
